You know one of the coolest things about this blog? Not only to share with all our friends and family who live long distance but...that one day when Steve and I are old and gray and our kids have their OWN kids...they can go on here, and see their childhood!
September is here and one of our families BUSIEST month's ever with birthdays and back to school! Fall is my ABSOLUTE most favorite season and this one is NO exception! There is just something about the crisp sunny days, the colors changing all around us, the smells of pumpkins and spice and wood burning fireplaces...
Anyway ~ here's an update on how our family is doing! We know many of you count on these blog updates so as promised...I didn't wait SO long to update this time :)
Emma: She's a busy part of the French Family this month! She cut her first tooth and has started army crawling and pulling herself up on EVERYTHING peeking over the top....and then breaking into a HUGE grin to show how proud she is of herself! She LOVE's the 'Itsy Bitsy Spider' song and bath time is her absolute favorite!
Ryan: He has started KINDERGARTEN! He LOVES his class and school and is SO proud to take the bus all by himself every day. The first day he INSISTED on taking the bus so we had to make arrangements because Momma had to be there too :) I ended up taking about an hour break from work that day and left to go get him from my mom's, took him home so he could get on the bus and then met him at his classroom 30 minutes later! It was hilarious but really made that little man feel SO grown up! He's back at Tae Kwon Do now and remembering all his old 'moves'. He officially turned SIX on September 1st too -- so it was an eventful month for our little man.
Autumn: She's in HIGH SCHOOL! Oh my goodness...we never realized how old YOUR CHILDREN make you feel as opposed to how old you feel on your OWN birthdays! :) She's enjoying high school and getting straight A's of course to start off the year. She had her first FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL game to cheer at this month and has been busy every friday night since! We couldn't have been more proud to watch her perform. All her hard work over the summer definitely paid off! AND....she has a DATE for HOMECOMING!!!!! Yikes! Daddy is freakin' out! The boy is coming over next week so we can 'spend some time' getting to know him :)
Required if he wants to take her to the dance. Autumn had her 14th Birthday on the 3rd of September too!
Steve: This amazing, diligent, intelligent, passionate man officially passed his probation at Canby Fire Department and was sworn in and given his official badge this month! We couldn't be MORE proud of him as it has taken so much time, commitment, and heart to dedicate himself to. Not only did he have to pass his fire academy but then he spent the last year 'on the job' and completing task books to learn the 'Canby' way. It's one more step out of the way toward getting a PAID Firefighter/Paramedic position and the pride and joy in his face on that night was contagious!
We love you baby!
Heather: I spent a month full of doing what I love to do best....planning parties!!!!! And decorating for fall! With all the birthday's and events this month it was all I could do to keep it straight! :) Been trying to really focus at work this month too --- I have set some high goals for myself I am striving to achieve. Hopefully I will see some results from a full pipeline next month. AND...yes...the inevitable...I ALSO turned another year older this month. 34. I guess it's not that old because I still told you how old I am honestly -- BUT...I have to ask Steve sometimes how old I am because they all blur together! :)
